It is a fact that real estate prices are driven up with demand. Where the wealthiest people in the country live, the real estate prices will be the highest in those areas. This also means that in the US, the most expensive cities are those where the movie stars and the rich corporate honchos decide to settle down. Here is a little list of the five most expensive small cities in the United States.

This small city in Long Island, New York, with a population of hardly 600, is right by the Atlantic Ocean. The panoramic vistas and the beautiful boulevards attract the wealthiest of Americans. The real estate prices have soared in the past twenty years, making this one of the costliest places to live in. Some of the most notable residents of this small city include cartoonist Charles Addams, Goldman Sachs CEO, Lloyd Blankfein, television personality Jimmy Fallon, coach Lewis Frankfort and investor and businessman Ira Rennert.

Jupiter Island

The island boasts only a 17 mile strip of land. It is among the three barrier islands of Florida and has the makings of excellent tourist destinations. The real estate prices are sky high here, owing to the limited land available. If you want the exclusivity of having Jupiter Island on your address, you will have to pay the average price of about $3,620,310.

Hunts Point
In the western area of Washington, to the eastern shore of the majestic Lake Washington, you will find the smallest municipality of the state.
